Sad News

We were shocked and saddened to hear the news that Colin Wiseman had passed away on the 19th of June at the hospital in Aberdeen. Colin attended the stroke group regularly with his wife Lindsay after suffering a stroke several years ago, and kept us all entertained with his many stories at our events and outings.

A memorial service was held at Quoys on Monday 2nd July to celebrate Colin’s life and was well attended. The stroke group committee and several group members were pleased to be able to support the family by organising the refreshments after the service, as a mark of respect for Colin.

The money donated in Colin’s memory at the memorial service came to a total of £767.05 and has been kindly donated to the stroke group funds. Our thoughts are with Lindsay and the family at this sad time, and Colin will be sadly missed at our future events and outings.

We have had a further donation of £60 from the Whalsay Sunday teas fundraising event, and are very grateful to all those involved.

Isabel Fraser, one of our committee members, has undertaken a Walk Your Way fundraising challenge. She managed to walk a total of 26.2 miles and raised an amazing £135 for the group funds. So well done Isabel!
